The Melbourne Storm have delivered a resounding warning shot to the remainder of the competition comfortably taking down the Sydney Roosters 48-18 in a home final demolition. After an early sin bin to Nelson Asofa-Solomona following high contact to Roosters forward Lindsay Collins, the Roosters came away with early points from a penalty goal and a try. Melbourne quickly returned serve and scoring four unanswered tries going into a half time lead of 22 to 6. Melbourne remained dominant in the second half, bar two quick tries to the Roosters. Melbourne ultimately held out the Roosters second half raid and continued their win streak over the club.
